Hall of Fame
At the time of his induction, Matt held the career batting average mark for Thomas Baseball. A four-year starter in the outfield, Matt stood out form the moment he stepped foot on campus. He earned 1st Team North Atlantic Conference (NAC), Co-Rookie of the Year honors and was named to the All-Tournament Team during his freshman year – a year in which Thomas won the 2004 NAC Championship. Matt was always consistent with his bat, never ending a season with a batting average under .300. Other recognition that matt achieved on the diamond including All-Conference – Honorable Mention in 2005, All-Conference – 1st team in 2006 and 2007. During his senior season, Matt was named a team captain.
Originally from Webster, MA, Matt excelled at Bartlett Junior-Senior High School, where he was a team captain in both football and baseball, earning All-Conference recognition in both sports during his senior season.
Matt graduated from Thomas with a degree in Criminal Justice, and now serves as a police officer for the Portland Police Department, and is also a member of the New Hampshire National Guard. A resident of Portland, Matt enjoys spending his free time with his wife Kim, whom he met at Thomas, and their twin boys Brady and Jack.Â
