Dr. Nelson Madore (1942-2020) served as a professor, advisor, and mentor at Thomas College for forty years before retiring in 2009. He was beloved by thousands of students and remaining close to many of them when they became alumni and after his retirement.Â
            As a faculty member, Dr. Madore showed his dedication to students in myriad ways. Among them was his avid support for the Thomas College Athletic program. He could often be spotted at games in the stands, was known for his encouragement and support for student-athletes, and regularly attended alumni competitions and other games during Homecoming and Family Weekend. He constantly demonstrated good sportsmanship; contributed to the Terrier Athletics program through advocacy; and positively impacted student-athletes during their time at Thomas and beyond.Â
            Dr. Madore was informed of this award prior to his sudden passing in December 2020, and his induction was celebrated posthumously.Â
