Waterville, ME – Thomas College Athletics is excited to announce the promotion of Rob Dippner to the position of Head Baseball Coach. Dippner now moves into the lead role on the NCAA team after previously serving as the program's full-time Assistant Coach and Head Club Baseball Coach. Dippner was a key member of the coaching staff during the NCAA team's back-to-back North Atlantic Conference Championship Series appearances.

Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics Andrea Thebarge had this to say about Dippner's promotion. "Rob has been an invaluable member of our baseball program and athletic department over the past three seasons. His commitment to our student-athletes, passion for the game, and dedication to the mission of Thomas College make him the ideal leader for our baseball program moving forward."

Dippner steps into the role after serving on the Thomas coaching staff for the past three seasons, helping guide the program's growth both on and off the field. During his time with the Terriers, he has played a key role in recruiting, player development, and building a culture focused on excellence in competition and in the classroom. "I am very excited to step into this new role," said Dippner. "I am looking forward to helping the baseball program and the college in any way possible. I know the guys are excited to get going, and we are all really excited for what the 2026-27 baseball season will bring to our players and the college."

As he assumes leadership of the program, Dippner is focused on continuing the momentum established in recent years. "The opportunity to continue to work with the team to chase the goal of winning a North Atlantic Conference championship is what excites me the most," he said. "We have a tremendous group of young men who are on the team now and coming onto campus who are hungry and ready to put in the work to hopefully accomplish that goal."

Known for his player-centered approach, Dippner believes strong relationships are essential to helping student-athletes succeed. "I am a player's coach for sure," he said. "I work hard to connect with our players and find ways to motivate them so they can be their best both on and off the field."

His coaching philosophy has been shaped by experiences throughout his career at multiple programs. "I feel I have been able to take pieces from every program I have been a part of and apply them to my coaching style and strategy," said Dippner. "I have tried to take things I liked from certain coaches and programs and incorporate them into our daily routines. My time at Thomas has prepared and equipped me with the processes needed to recruit at a high level, plan at a high level, and understand the commitment it takes to make an impact on our players."

Looking ahead, Dippner has established both immediate and long-term goals for the program. In the short term, he hopes to continue building upon the foundation established over the past three seasons. "We have great pieces in place and hope to raise the bar this season both on the field and in the classroom," he said. Long-term, his vision extends far beyond wins and losses. "Off the field, we want to maintain a high graduation rate and prepare our student-athletes for life after baseball," said Dippner. "On the field, we want to prepare our players year after year to compete and win at a high level. Our goal is to provide them with the tools they need to be successful and help them reach their full potential."

With a talented roster returning and a strong incoming class, Thomas College Baseball enters a new chapter under Coach Dippner's leadership with excitement and optimism for the future.
