Seven Terriers Earn NAC Baseball Postseason Awards

Waterville, ME - Seven different Terriers have earned North Atlantic Conference Baseball postseason awards for their efforts and performances this past spring. The Terriers went 20-21 overall, and went 14-10 in conference play. The team was able to make it back to the NAC Championship Series, where they narrowly fell in a hard-fought game. This season was the third best single-season in terms of wins and losses in program history, and the second consecutive season of at least 20 wins.

Ajay Rychcik / NAC Rookie of the Year, NAC Second Team All-Conference - Rychcik had an incredible rookie season for the Terriers, and one of three players who started every game. His season culminated in a .364 batting average, 52 hits, 13 doubles, one triple, seven home runs, 40 RBI, nine stolen bases, and a .434 on base percentage. Rychcik was huge both at the plate and in the outfield for the Terriers this past season, and will look to make a sophomore leap next season.

DJ Cagnina / NAC Second Team All-Conference - Cagnina led the team in most categories as a graduate student, including batting average (.376), hits (53), RBI, (42), and started in every game this season for the Terriers at first base. DJ's timely ability to make big plays both at the plate and key catches at first will be greatly missed heading into next season. Cagnina also set the all-time doubles record for the program, earning 44 throughout his time at Thomas to make history.

Hayden Dippner / NAC Second Team All-Conference - Dippner, a junior, had another strong season for the Terriers. This season in addition to his duties in center field, he stepped into the shortstop role well, showing off his athleticism to help make key defensive plays. In addition to his defensive abilities, Dippner was the third and final player to start in every single game. He earned 40 hits (eclipsing 100 career hits this season), two home runs, 29 RBI, 13 stolen bases, and had an incredible .475 on base percentage and a .313 batting average.

Kyle Delano / NAC Second Team All-Conference - Delano, another junior, had a strong season for the Terriers from the pitchers mound. He went 4-2 on the year with a 4.53 ERA, allowing just 24 earned runs in 11 appearances and seven starts. He struck out a 28 batters, and was crucial to the team's success this past season.

Ian Libby / NAC Second Team All-Conference - Libby, a junior, had a impressive season for the Terriers on the mound. He appeared in a team high 13 games, starting a team high nine games. He had a 4.50 ERA, going 6-2 on the season. He also pitched a team high 52 innings, only allowing 26 earned runs while striking out a team high 44 batters.

Gus Hollen / NAC Second Team All-Conference - Hollen, a junior, was a key force behind home plate for the Terriers this season. He hit .317, starting in 39 games for the Terriers. Hollen earned 38 hits, eight doubles, two home runs, 25 RBI, and had an on base percentage of .426. Hollen also had 164 catches, 141 putouts, and a fielding percentage of .976.
