Waterville, ME – David Ivarsson, Jamie Fischer, and Shafi Ibrahim all earned North Atlantic Conference weekly awards for the week of September 26th. Men's Soccer played in two conference matchups, a 1-0 win against the University of Maine Farmington and a 2-0 win against Maine Maritime Academy.

David Ivarsson was named the NAC's Player of the Week after playing a crucial role in the two conference wins the Terriers earned this week, defeating conference opponents University of Maine Farmington and Maine Maritime by scores of 1-0 and 2-0. On Wednesday against the Beavers, David provided the assist on the only goal of the game, a perfectly placed through ball. Against Maine Maritime on Saturday David scored the game's first goal, scoring an acrobatic strike to put the Terriers up 1-0.

Jamie Fischer was named the NAC's Defensive Player of the Week, and was abig reason why the Terriers kept two shutouts against two competitive conference teams from this past week. Despite only having to make two saves against Farmington, his ability to control and organize the defense helped the team go on to win in a hard-fought 1-0 game. Later in the week against the Mariners, Jamie had four saves at some important moments to prevent the Mariners from scoring.

Shafi Ibrahim was named the NAC's Rookie of the Week and was an essential part of the two conference wins this past week from the Terriers. On Wednesday against Farmington, Shafi scored an impressive goal. After a through pass Shafi was able to use his pace to get by a defender and placed the ball perfectly in the left corner to score the only goal of the game. On Saturday against Maine Maritime, Ibrahim helped set up the game's second goal that sealed the win after some quick two-touch build up play to push the ball up the field.

Men's Soccer will be back in action on Wednesday, October 1st, when they take on the University of Maine Fort Kent Bengals at home. Kick off is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
