Men's Soccer Celebrates Senior Day With 2-0 Win Over Maine Maritime

Waterville, ME - Men's Soccer celebrated their annual "senior day" with a 2-0 shutout win against NAC opponent Maine Maritime Academy on Saturday, September 27th, 2025.

How it Happened:
  • The Mariners had an early chance to score, but Jamie Fischer made a good save to keep it tied in the second minute.
  • A shot from Serafin Garcia five minutes later forced a save out of the Mariners goalkeeper.
  • By the 20th minute the Terriers had turned up the pressure, with David Ivarsson and Ordi Bimvy both nearly scoring.
  • In the 29th minute a cross from Tre Burgess found Jeremiah Gomez, who flicked it on to Ivarsson, who scored to give the Terriers a 1-0 lead.
  • The Terriers forced several saves from the Mariner goalkeeper over the next 16 minutes, but no attemps found the back of the net.
  • In the 47th minute a shot from Ivarsson needed to be cleared off the line to keep things a 1-0.
  • In the 56th minute Shafi Ibrahim was able to push the tempo, finding Kevin Segura who quickly played it to Bimvy, who scored to make it 2-0.
  • Things continued to be chippy, with yellow cards being given to both teams over the next 20 minutes.
  • The Mariners nearly found the back of the net soon after, but a narrow miss on an open goal kept things 2-0.
  • Despite the scoreline the Mariners pushed toward goal at the end of the game, forcing a final save from Fischer in the 89th minute to secure the 2-0 shutout win.
