11/12/2024 9:42:00 AM

Boston, MA – After their 2-0 win against SUNY Delhi to claim the 2024 North Atlantic Conference Championship, Men's Soccer will travel to Boston, Massachusetts to take on the #17 SUNY Buffalo State University Bengals (15-2-3), hosted #2 Tufts University on Saturday, November 16th, 2024. Kick off is set for 7:30 PM.

Buffalo State, who was ranked #17 in Division III in the most recent United Soccer Coaches national poll, made it to the SUNYAC Championship game this season – falling to SUNY Cortland 1-3. Despite the result the Bengals earned an at-large bid into the NCAA tournament and were matched up against the Terriers, who have only lost one game all season (13-1-4)

The NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Tournament has six rounds, beginning in pods. In the Terriers pod are Tufts University, Westfield State, and Buffalo State. Tufts, the host of both pod games, is matched up against Westfield State, and the winner of that game will play either the Terriers or Buffalo State on Sunday, November 17th, at 5:00 PM.

The winners of the second-round contests will advance to a regional site for sectional matchups on either November 22nd and 23rd, or the 23rd and the 24th. The winners of the four sectional matchups will advance to the national semifinals, held in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Division III Men's Soccer National Championship will be played on December 7th in Las Vegas at Peter Johann Memorial Field.

This is the first time Men's Soccer has made it to the NCAA Tournament since 2019 and will be the seventh time the team has qualified (2010, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2018, 2019, 2024).

Led by the reigning NAC Coaching Staff of the Year (Head Coach Kyle Fletcher, assistants Kiaran McCormack and Jim Evans), two-time NAC Player of the Year Joshua Joseph, NAC Rookie of the Year and NAC Tournament MVP Jamie Fischer, as well as All-Conference newcomers David Ivarsson and Tristan Kjartansson, the team looked primed and ready to take on the challenge of the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Tournament.
