Springfield, MA – Men's Soccer grinded out a hard-fought 1-0 win against the Western New England University Golden Bears on Saturday, September 5^th, 2026.
 
How it Happened:

• Terrier goalkeeper Jamie Fischer was forced into action early, making a good save just a minute in to keep things tied at zero.
• Over the next 25 minutes the Terriers settled into the game, generating several shots that forced saves from the Golden Bears goalkeeper.
• Fischer was able to make another save just four minutes before halftime, and both teams headed into the break tied at 0-0.
• One minute into the second half a bouncing ball in the box found the foot of Adam Elkott, who scored to give the Terriers a 1-0 lead.
• Just 13 minutes later a shot from Andrew Hodgins hit against the crossbar, nearly doubling the Terrier lead.
• Both teams matched each other well, with neither able to generate any clear-cut chances for the next 25 minutes.
• In the last 15 minutes of the game the Golden Bears had a few opportunities, but their shots ultimately went wide or were saved by Fischer, giving the Terriers a hard-fought 1-0 win.
