Box Score 2 Lyndonville, VT – Baseball took on Northern Vermont University Lyndon in a Saturday doubleheader NAC Conference match up. The Terriers took the win in both games, 18-6 in game 1, then 8-6 in game 2. A strong at the plate performance game from Sophomore,
Reid Gagnon, going 5 for 7 including 1 home run on the day.

Game 1
How it Happened:
- The Terriers started getting runs at the top of the second with bases loaded and no outs, the Terriers were able to score four runs off two hits
- The momentum for the Terriers continued into the third inning with doubles from Nick Hutson, Patrick Temby, and Austin Stebbins, along with a triple from Gagnon, 8-0 Thomas
- The Hornets added two runs at the bottom of the third off a single to center field then an error
- Thomas did not let that shake them they continued to add runs during the fourth inning when Aaron Young singled to center field bringing in two runs, 10-2 Thomas
- Another two runs were added by Lyndon in the fifth off three hits to the outfield, followed by their fifth run in the sixth inning off a double to left field
- The Terriers final eight runs were all added in the seventh inning, starting off with Gagnon's solo home run, followed by seven hits, brining the game to 18-5 going into the final half inning
- A wild pitch brought in the Hornets final run, final score 18-6 Thomas
The Pitchers:
Jarrad Willette started on the mound for Thomas, pitching the first four innings and the start of the fifth, ending with four strikeouts.
Tyler Cantey came in to relieve Willette during the fifth inning, striking out three of the four batters faced in the fifth. Cantey then pitched the sixth inning striking out two more batters.
Jacob Schubert came in to pitch the final inning, getting all three outs himself by striking them out.
Game 2
How it Happened:
- After a quiet first inning from both teams NVU Lyndon was the first on the board scoring four runs in the second, off a Thomas error and single to center
- Thomas gained one of those runs back at the top of the third when Hutson hit a sacrifice fly to center field scoring Morton
- During the bottom of the third the Hornets added another run, but the Terriers were able keep them at only one with bases were loaded, getting the final out on a hit to first base
- Gagnon brought in the Terriers second run of the game with a double to right field, scoring Temby who also hit a double during his at bat two batters earlier
- The final Hornets run came in the fourth inning off a wild pitch
- The Terriers were able to tie up the game at the top of the fifth inning starting with a double from Matt Seymour, which brought in two runs, followed by a run scored off a wild pitch, then an RBI fielders choice hit by Morton bringing in Lucas Harmon
- Thomas didn't score their final two runs until the seventh inning off a single RBI hit from Morton and Hornet error, final score 8-6 Thomas
The Pitchers:
Garrison Paillet stared on the mound for the Terriers and pitched the first two innings before being relieved in the third. Paillet ended with five strikeouts and having five runs scored against him, but only one being earned. Zach Nickerson came in to pitch the rest of the third inning, along with the fourth and fifth innings. Nickerson ended his day with three strikeouts and allowing one run.
Andrew Pruell came in to finish the game and ended with the win striking five batters.
