Box Score Orono, ME – Baseball traveled to the University of Maine to play the Division I team in a seven-inning game, falling 10-0. The Black Bears had steady bats throughout the game, not grabbing more than three runs in a single inning.

How it Happened:
- Sophomore Tony Meza was the first man on base during the game with a single to center field, but no Terriers were able to hit him in
- The Black Bears got their first runs on the board in the bottom of the first off stolen bases and a sacrifice fly to right field
- Another sacrifice fly brought in UMaine's third run of the game in the third inning
- After a few quick innings for the Terriers were able to get three runners on base, first being Austin Stebbins with a single hit up the middle another from Elijah Morton who singled in the infield, and then Meza who walked
- Even with only one out, Thomas got caught in a double play and was unable to get a run in
- At the bottom of the sixth the Black Bears made brought the score to 7-0 off three hits
- Nick Hutson made the most off his final bat of the game, hitting a double to left field, one of only two doubles hit all game
- A single and homerun made the game 10-0 win at the end of the seventh for the Black Bears
The Pitchers:
First Year
Roy Clayton started on the mound for the Terriers, ending with two strikeouts on eleven batters.
Arthur Aranda game in to pitch for Clayton during the fourth inning and pitching until relieved in the sixth.
Jacob Schubert started off the sixth inning and pitched up to the last out when
Albert Acosta came in to finish the sixth and then pitch the seventh.
What is Next:
Baseball will travel to Northern Vermont University – Lyndon this weekend for doubleheaders on both Saturday, April 22nd and Sunday, April 23
rd. Saturday's game times will be at 1 & 4pm, while Sunday will be played at 12 & 3pm.
