Junior Julia Reny continues to be a strong offensive pawn in the Terriers formation, as she scored all four Thomas goals, unassisted, and broke two Thomas College Field Hockey single season records. The first record broken was Points in a Season, with her now residing at 48 total. Reny then broke Goals Scored in a Season when she scored the second goal of the game. She now has 22 total goals earned on the season.
How it Happened:
- A scoreless first quarter was mostly dominated by the Terriers offense, with Thomas putting up nine shots and earning five penalty corners.
- Reny's first goal occurred 8 minutes into the second quarter off a penalty stroke, hitting the top of the net, completely out of reach by the Panther's keeper.
- Multiple Terriers put up shots on goal in the remaining of the first half but none would find the back of the net.
- Two minutes into the third quarter off a rebound, Reny put in the second Thomas goal of the evening.
- First Years Kara Richards and Samantha Thebarge kept putting in great shots from the top, but an impressive performance from Plymouth's goalkeeper kept the score close.
- Before the third quarter ended Reny found herself in a fast break beating 5 Panthers, scoring the one v one against the keeper making it 3-0 going into the fourth.
- Junior Avery Herrick would go on to have a great fourth quarter putting up multiple shots but none were able to fall.
- Plymouth had their highest amount of scoring opportunities in the fourth quarter and ended scoring their loan goal just over three minutes into the fourth, with the score now being 3-1 Thomas.
- Reny put the nail in the coffin with three minutes left in the game off a rebound shot from Herrick, making the final score 4-1 Thomas.
Goalkeepers:
First Year Mackenzie Toner got her first collegiate win of the year, playing the full sixty and making 6 saves.
Plymouths keeper Kayla Antonucci had an impressive night making 20 saves in the full sixty.
