Box Score 2 AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The Thomas College baseball team fell to DePauw and Middlebury in a pair of games on Tuesday.
GAME 1: Thomas 1, DePauw 11
The Tigers put three on the board in the bottom of the first to take the early 3-0 advantage. Darren Kelly (Foxboro, Mass.) hit his first career home run in the top of the third to cut the lead to 3-1. DePauw scored twice to answer in the third, then tacked on one in the fourth and five in the sixth to take the 11-1 win.
Cody Cousins (Wells, Maine) took the loss, giving up four earned runs in 3.2 innings pitched.
GAME 2: Middlebury 6, Thomas 4
Middlebury got up early with a run in the first, but Thomas answered in the bottom of the inning when Alexander Miller (Brandon, Fla.) scored on a groundout to make it 1-1. The Panthers scored once in the second and three times in the third to take control, 5-1.
The Terriers started their comeback in the bottom of the fifth, when Alexander Baker (South Berwick, Maine) scored on a ground out to make it 5-2. Thomas made it a one-run game in the bottom of the seventh, with Kelly hitting RBI single, followed by Miller scoring again on a ground out to make it 5-4. Middlebury added an insurance run in the eighth and the Terriers were unable to bring another around to fall 6-4.
Dylan Copeland (Salisbury, Mass.) took the loss, allowing three earned runs in six innings of work with five strikeouts. Dominic Esposito (Portland, Maine) pitched three quality innings in relief, allowing a run on one hit.

The Terriers will face DePauw again, followed by a matchup with Williams on Wednesday, March 27 starting at 9:30 AM.
