Men's Tennis Improves to 4-0 After Nearly Sweeping USM

Waterville, ME - Men's Tennis improves to 4-0 on the season in their fourth straight 6-1 win, this time coming against the University of Southern Maine Huskies at home on Thursday, March 26th, 2026.

How it Happened:
  • Casey Duncan and Thai Nguyen started off at #1 doubles strongly, defeating their opponents 6-1.
  • Dominic Clifford and Camden Herrick won in similar fashion, 6-1 at the #2 spot.
  • At the #3 doubles spot Ricky Salazar and Nick Magiera earned a 6-2 win, making the overall match score 1-0 in favor of the Terriers.
  • Nguyen dominated at the #1 singles spot, winning 6-0, 6-0 in a clean sweep.
  • At #2 singles Clifford nearly swept his opponent as well, winning 6-1, 6-0.
  • Herrick earned another win at #3 singles, with the scores being 6-3, 6-0, to make the overall score 4-0 in favor of the Terriers.
  • In a tightly contested match, Calvin Cutler at #4 singles fell 4-6, then found his stride to win 6-0, 6-1 in a three set thriller.
  • Duncan swept his opponent at the #5 spot, 6-0, 6-0.
  • Finally at #6 singles, Magiera was locked in a hard-fought match but eventually fell 6-2, 4-6, 8-10.
  • With a strong team performance the Terriers earned a 6-1 win against the Huskies.

What's Next:
  • Men's Tennis will be back in action on Saturday, March 28th, when they take on VTSU-Lyndon at home. Start time is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
