Dominic Clifford earned this week's Empire 8 Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the week of 4/14/26. The Terriers went 3-0 in that time, defeating Norwich University on Saturday 5-2, then earning a doubleheader sweep 7-0, 7-0, on Sunday. With the wins, the Terriers have clinched the #1 overall seed in the Empire 8 Eastern Division and will host the semifinals and championship of the Empire 8 Men's Tennis Championship Tournament on May 1-2, 2026.
Dominic Clifford earned this week's Empire 8 Men's Tennis Player of the Week award after going undefeated this week, earning dominant wins in every match he played for the Terriers. Clifford started the weekend off with a 6-0 sweep at #2 doubles against Norwich, then proceeded to win 6-4, 7-5, to help the Terriers take down Norwich and secure the #1 seed in the Empire 8 Eastern Division. On Sunday in the team's doubleheader against Lesley Clifford was equally as good. In the first match of the day Clifford won 6-0 at #2 doubles, then won 6-0, 6-1, at #2 singles. In the final match of the week Clifford moved up to #1 doubles and #1 singles, winning both matchups (6-2 in doubles, 6-1, 6-0 in singles). Clifford has been a key contributor for the Terriers down the stretch, and his success this week was critical for the team to secure the #1 seed and move to 12-2 on the season.
Men's Tennis will be back in action when they travel to take on the University of Southern Maine on Thursday, April 23rd, 2026. Start time is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
