Birmingham, AL - Emma Burr earned First Team All-American honors at the NCAA Division III National Championships in the Women's Pentathlon on Friday, March 13th, 2026. Burr, a Junior, has now earned NCAA Division III All-American Honors three times. At last year's Indoor Track & Field National Championships she earned Second Team All-American honors, and at last spring's Outdoor Track & Field National Championships she earned First Team All-American honors.

How it Happened:

• This season Burr was able to qualify in two separate events, in the Long Jump and the Pentathlon.
• Burr placed 18th in the Women's Long Jump with a distance of 5.28 meters.
• Burr's primary event, the Pentathlon, contains the 60 Meter Hurdles, High Jump, Shot Put, Long Jump, and 800 Meter. Points are awarded separately for each event completed, and after those five events the student athlete with the highest point total wins.
• Burr placed second in the Pentathlon's 60 Meter Hurdles with a time of 8.72 seconds. This score earned Burr 969 points toward her overall score.
• In the Pentathlon's High Jump, Burr placed 10th with a height of 1.61 meters. This earned 747 points.
• Burr placed 11th in the Pentathlon's Shot Put with a distance of 9.91 meters, earning 524 points.
• In the Pentathlon's Long Jump Burr placed fourth with a distance of 5.33 meters. This earned Burr 651 points.
• And finally in the Pentathlon's 800 Meter Burr placed 12th with a time of 2:28.93. This earned Burr 706 points.
• In total Burr earned 3,597 points, good for fifth place in all of NCAA Division III, making her a First Team All-American for the first time in Women's Indoor Track & Field.

What's Next:

• Burr will rejoin the Outdoor Track & Field Team as they travel to Saint Joseph's College of Maine to compete in their next meet on Friday and Saturday, April 10^th and 11^th, 2025. Start times are TBD.
