2/10/2026 3:20:00 PM

Waterville, ME – The 2026 Men's Lacrosse season is here, and student-athletes will begin their first competitions in the coming week. Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Bill Scott will enter his four year at the helm of the program and will look to make another big jump in conference play.

Coach Scott and his coaching staff have worked tirelessly to bring in another large recruitment class, made up of 12 new student-athletes on the roster. Coach Scott wanted to emphasize the athleticism in his underclassmen. "We have solid first year and sophomore recruiting classes, and both are expected to contribute. We also have a few talented multi-sport players, adding depth and athleticism across the roster." Those new student-athletes are as follows:

  • #00 Mike Picard – First Year – Goalie – East Longmeadow, Massachusetts
  • #1 Juan Otero – First Year – Midfield – Bethel, Connecticut
  • #11 Simon Lanigan – First Year – Midfield – Springvale, Maine
  • #13 Jesse Sag – First Year – Attack – Derry, New Hampshire
  • #16 Dexter Morin – First Year – Midfield – Auburn, Maine
  • #20 Cooper Freeman – First Year – Defense – Williston, Vermont
  • #21 Dylan Preston – First Year – Midfield – Tyngsboro, Massachusetts
  • #24 Layton Lyons – First Year – Defense – Boerne, Texas
  • #26 Declan Brown – First Year – Midfield – Londonderry, New Hampshire
  • #33 Sam Lockwood – First Year – Goalie – Huntsville, Canada
  • #34 Jamie Fonseca – Junior – Midfield – Ansonia, Connecticut
  • #44 Kyle Siebert – Junior – Defense – Hinckley, Maine

Coach Scott will look to get the best out of several returning student-athletes, and most of the team has returned from last year's North Atlantic Conference playoff berth and a third-seed finish. Coach Scott wanted to recognize some key contributors. "We are bringing back a veteran, senior-heavy midfield and a defense that forced 168 caused turnovers last season, ranking among the NAC leaders and establishing a pressure-based identity. At the faceoff X, Jack Morrill remains a cornerstone, ranking second in the NAC with 168 faceoff wins and 126 ground balls, holding Thomas College career and single-season records in both categories, and earning Second Team All-Conference honors. Hunter Vail and Ciaran Vizi anchor a record-setting defense, while sophomores Patrick Babineau and Gavin Start add depth and athleticism. Offensively, Owen Lyons returns after a freshman season with 28 goals and 24 assists, setting Thomas College freshman records and earning Second Team All-Conference honors. Midfield depth is a major strength with Tyler Gay, Tracen Wagner, Hunter Simpson, Charlie Foster-Major, Connor Hamilton, Tyler Lydon Kyle Doren-Crooker and Dustyn Hinkley. Wyatt Lyons and Nike Pike are expected to lead the attack alongside Owen Lyons."

Looking ahead at the start of the season, the North Atlantic Conference schedule system matches up each once, and each season they swap home games with away games. Coach Scott wanted to emphasize the importance of conference play, and how excited he and his coaching staff is for the coming year. Men's Lacrosse play all their home games at Smith Field on campus.
