Julia Reny, a standout student-athlete from Gardiner, Maine, has been named a finalist for the North Atlantic Conference Woman of the Year award. This award is voted upon by the athletic administrators across the conference. The award is weighted by three main categories and a personal statement (10%). Those three primary categories are as follows: Service and Leadership (30%), Academic Achievement (30%), and Athletic Excellence (30%).

Reny has left an incredible mark on Thomas College through her extraordinary accomplishments in academics, athletics, and campus leadership. A graduate of Cony High School, Reny has successfully completed an accelerated 3+1 program at Thomas College, earning both a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Master's in Educational Leadership—both with perfect 4.00 GPAs.

Reny graduated as the Valedictorian of the Class of 2024 and was one of only three students named a Thomas Scholar, a prestigious honor recognizing exceptional academic achievement and leadership. Her academic excellence was further recognized with membership in the Alpha Chi National Honor Society and multiple conference and national academic honors.

In athletics Reny thrived as a multi-sport competitor in Outdoor Track & Field, Indoor Track & Field, and Field Hockey. As a thrower and sprinter for the Terriers' Track & Field team, she earned North Atlantic Conference (NAC) All-Conference honors across multiple seasons. Reny was named the NCAA Division III New England Javelin Champion in 2023, earned First Team All-Conference in Javelin that same year, and secured Second Team honors in both 2022 and 2024. She also contributed to the Terriers' NAC Championship title in 2024 and currently holds the school record in Women's Javelin with a mark of 38.73 meters.

Reny's impact on the turf for the Field Hockey program was arguably even more impressive. As a forward and midfielder over four seasons, she accumulated a host of individual accolades including NAC Player of the Year (2023), NAC All-Conference First Team (2023), and NECC First Team honors in both 2021 and 2022. In her senior season, she was named CMCFHC Player of the Year and Co-Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year and earned a spot on the NFHCA All-Region First Team. Nationally, she led all of NCAA Division III in assists per game (0.88) during the 2024 season. Reny finishes her career as the program's all-time leader in goals scored (40) and points (92) in a single season.

Beyond her athletic and academic accolades, Reny has demonstrated a strong commitment to service and student life. She has been active in numerous organizations including Active Minds, the Special Olympics Club, Student Philanthropy, and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Her leadership on and off the field has earned her several campus-wide awards, including Women's Senior Scholar Athlete, Senior Outstanding Athlete, the Golden Key Award, and the Terrier Award.

th, 2025.
