Six Terriers Earn CMCFHC Field Hockey Postseason Awards

Waterville, ME – Kara Richards, Leah Knight, Samantha Thebarge, Maci Freeman, Eliya Drummond, and Paige Gilbert were all awarded postseason awards through the Central Maine Collegiate Field Hockey Conference. The Terriers finished the season with their best record in program history at 14-6 and went 3-1 in conference play. The Terriers made it all the way to the CMCFHC Championship Game after defeating several talented programs across the fall season.
 
Kara Richards / All-Conference Team, All-Tournament Team – Richards was the leading scorer for the Terriers this past season with 16 goals and four assists for 36 points. Richards led the conference in both goals and points by a wide margin and is a focal point of the Terrier attack, often using her powerful shot to score in crucial moments.
 
Leah Knight / All-Conference Team – Knight had a fantastic senior season for the Terriers, utilizing her speed and powerful shot to help the Terriers to their best record in program history. Knight scored six goals, added three assists for 15 points, and played over 1,000 minutes for the Terriers this season.
 
Samantha Thebarge / Co-Defensive Player of the Year, All-Conference Team, All-Tournament Team – Samantha was a driving force on both offense and defense for the Terriers, sometimes playing both roles at once. Thebarge played nearly every minute for Terriers last season and had 13 goals, five assists, and one defensive save. Thebarge also has a key role on penalty corners on both ends of the field, often finding the back of the net.
 
Paige Gilbert / All-Conference Team, All-Tournament Team, Sportsmanship Team – Gilbert was a crucial part of the midfield this season for the Terriers, consistently setting up attacking opportunities while being quick enough to run back to help defend. Gilbert scored two goals and added six assists this season for 10 points, playing almost every minute possible.
 
Maci Freeman / All-Conference Team, All-Tournament Team – Freeman has bounced between midfield and defense for the Terriers this season, excelling in both roles. She is the inserter on our penalty corners and plays an important role on defensive corners as well. Freeman scored five goals and led the team in assists with 13 for 23 points.
 
Eliya Drummond / Goalkeeper of the Year, Rookie of the Year, All-Conference Team – Drummond had one of the best first seasons in program history for a goalkeeper, only allowing 13 goals against all season. Drummond earned a 10-5 overall record, making 71 saves with an incredible .816 save percentage. Drummond's presence and ability to come up with huge saves helped the team finish with the best record in program history.
