Box Score Northfield, VT - Men's Tennis played their first match in the Empire 8 conference, a thrilling 5-4 win against Norwich University on Saturday, March 22^nd, 2025.

How it Happened:

Doubles

• Gabriel McPhail and Seb Soto at #1 doubles put in a good performance, winning 8-7. in a tightly contested matchup.
• In #2 doubles Camden Herrick and Dominic Clifford walked away with an emphatic 8-2 win to make the overall match score 2-0.
• Harrison Withee and Nick Magiera at #3 doubles came up just short, losing 8-7 to give Norwich a match point.

 
Singles 

• McPhail at #1 singles started the match out well but couldn't hang on – falling in three sets 6-3, 1-6, and 4-6.
• Soto at #2 singles suffered a similar fate but fell in two sets, 4-6, 5-7.
• Similarly to Soto, Herrick couldn't get over the hump at #3, losing 4-6, 4-6.
• Clifford's performance at #4 singles changed the tide of the match, rolling to a win 6-3, 6-0, to make the match score 3-4.
• Calvin Cutler at #5 won a back-and-forth match 5-7, 3-6.
• Casey Duncan sealed the win for the Terriers at #6 singles, winning 6-3, 6-1, to give the Terriers an important 5-4 win to open conference play.

• Men's Tennis will be back in action on the road on Thursday, March 27^th, when they travel to the University of Southern Maine. Match time is set for 4:00 PM.
