Waterville, ME - Men's Tennis played in their 2025 home opener on Tuesday, March 18th, 2025. The final score was 3-6 as Bridgewater State University upended the Terriers.

How it Happened:

Doubles

• Gabriel McPhail and Seb Soto at #1 doubles played well and came close, but eventually lost 6-8.
• Playing in their first collegiate home matches, Dominic Clifford partnered with Camden Harrick at #2 doubles to come together and eventually win 8-3.
• Harrison Withee and Nick Magiera at #3 doubles fell short and lost 5-8.
• Bridgewater State carried a 2-1 match lead into singles.

 
Singles

• At #1 singles McPhail lost the first set 1-6, but continued to compete despite losing the next set 3-6.
• Soto at #2 had a roller coaster of a match, losing a close first set 6-7, but winning the second 6-4. He eventually fell short in the third set 3-6.
• Herrick at #3, similarly to Soto, had a long three set match, flip flopping set one and two, winning 6-1 then losing 1-6, coming back to win it in the third 7-5.
• Clifford with another three set match at #4 kept his three match win streak going, winning 7-6, 3-6, 6-4.
• Cutler, making a singles appearance at #5, went down 0-6 in the first, then played better in the second - but eventually losing 5-7 in the second set.
• Casey Duncan subbing in at #6 singles stayed consistent and went down 3-6, 3-6.
• Bridgewater State walked away with a 6-3 victory in the Terriers home opener.

• Men's Tennis will be back in action on the road Saturday, March 22^nd , to take on the Norwich University Cadets in a conference match at 1:00 PM.
