Indoor Track & Field Sets Two School Records in Elm City Classic

Waterville, ME - Alwin Andree and Nabah Yahya both set school records in their respective events as Indoor Track & Field opened up their season at the 2025 Elm City Classic. Competing teams included Colby College, University of Maine Farmington, Saint Joseph's College of Maine, and Lawrence University.

How it Happened:

Men's Indoor Track & Field
  • Nick Plamondon placed third in the Men's 60 Meters with a time of 7.06. This time earned Pamondon provisional qualification to the NCAA Division III New England Championships.
  • Plamondon also placed second in the Men's Long Jump with a distance of 20' 0.25".
  • Plamondon placed first in the Men's Triple Jump with a distance of 39' 4".
  • Nolan Garey placed fourth in the Men's 60 Meter Hurdles with a time of 8.89. This time earned Garey provisional qualification to the NCAA Division III New England Championships.
  • Brenden Francis placed third in the Men's 200 Meters with a time of 25.46.
  • Francis also placed second in the Men's 400 Meters with a time of 57.73.
  • Dave Louis placed third in the Men's 400 Meters with a time of 58.73.
  • Gage Bruns placed first in the Men's Mile with a time of 4:36.87.
  • Alwin Andree placed fourth in the Men's 600 Meters with a time of 1:25.43. This time earned Andree a new school record and a provisional qualification to the NCAA Division III New England Championships.
  • Andree, Garey, Bruns, and Francis placed second in the Men's 4x400 Relay with a time of 3:46.42.
  • Jeffrey Flees, Tristan Hughes, Patrick McKenney, and Michael Johnson placed third in the Men's Distance Medley Relay with a time of 12:03.27.
  • Jauza James and Henry Phillips tied for third in the Men's Pole Vault with a height of 6' 8.75".
  • Lucas Chai placed second in the Men's Triple Jump with a distance of 37' 8.5".
  • Thomas Grady placed second in Men's Shot Put with a distance of 40' 5.5"
  • Grady also placed first the Men's Weight Throw with a distance of 44' 6".
  • The Men's team finished with 145 points, good for second place, only 10 away from first.

Women's Indoor Track & Field
  • Nabah Yahya placed third in the Women's 400 Meters with a time of 1:00.43. This time earned Yahya provisional qualification to the NCAA Division III New England Championships.
  • Yahya also placed first in the Women's Triple Jump with a distance of 36' 1.5". This distance earned Yahya a new school record and automatic qualification to the NCAA Division III New England Championships.
  • Kayla Hatt placed third in the Women's Mile with a time of 6:25.89.
  • Rebekah Ireland, Alyson Ellis, Hatt, and Celia Stinson placed second in the Women's Distance Medley Relay with a time of 15:59.21.
  • Kara Anderson placed third in the Women's Long Jump with a distance of 16' 2.5".
  • Anderson also placed third in the Women's Triple Jump with a distance of 34' 8.25". This distance earned Anderson provisional qualification to the NCAA Division III New England Championships.
  • Cassidy Hardy placed first in the Women's Shot Put with a distance of 35' 10". This throw earned Hardy provisional qualification to the NCAA Division III New England Championships.
  • Chelsey Cote placed first in the Women's Weight Throw with a distance of 38' 5".
  • Eliza Wheeler placed third in the Women's Weight Throw with a distance of 35' 4.5".
  • The Women's team finished with 99 points, good for third place.

What's Next:
  • Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field will be back in action on January 17th, 2026, when they travel to Bates College to compete in the Bates Invitational. Start time is TBD.
