Box Score 2 Auburndale, FL – Baseball split their doubleheader against Anna Maria College on Saturday, March 9
th, 2024. Game one ended in a 4-6 loss and game two ended in a 9-5 win. These games served as the seventh and eighth of nine game played in the RussMatt Invitational at various locations in Florida.

Game One:
How it Happened:
- The Terriers took the first lead of the game in the bottom of the second inning thanks to an Aaron Young single, which scored Samuel Keblinsky and Cam Haynes.
- Neither team was able to score until the top of the fifth inning, when the Amcats scored six runs to take a sizable 6-2 lead over the Terriers.
- The Terriers would begin to fight back, scoring a run in the bottom of the sixth inning.
- A double from Tony Meza scored Elijah Morton to bring the Terriers within three runs.
- In the bottom of the seventh inning Mitch Regan's hard-hit single was able to score Lucas Harmon to make it 4-6.
- The Terriers didn't allow any runs past the fifth inning but were unable to tack on any additional runs in the 4-6 loss.

Game Two:
How it Happened:
- The Terriers wasted no time to start this game, scoring three runs in the top of the first inning.
- Morton's single brought home Hayden Dippner, while Meza and Morton both scored on an error later in the inning to make it 3-0.
- The Amcats responded with a run of their own in the bottom of the inning, but the Terriers tacked on two more in the second.
- Another error meant that Dippner was able to score, and a walk on the next batter meant the Terriers led 5-1.
- But once again the Amcats didn't give up and scored two runs of their own to make it 5-3 going into the third inning.
- The Amcats would eventually make it 5-4, but a big fifth inning from the Terriers helped ensure the win.
- A double from Morton and a single from Matt Seymour brought home two runs to make it 8-4.
- The Terriers tacked on a final ninth run in the top of the sixth inning, with Dippner bringing home DJ Cagnina.
- The Amcats scored on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth, but the Terriers were able to hold on to earn their first win of the season by a score of 9-5.
