Box Score Farmington, ME - In a conference game between Thomas College and the University of Maine at Farmington that went down to the wire, it was the visiting Terriers who manage to come away with the 61-58 victory.Â
How it Happened:
- It was a highly anticipated match-up between the Beavers and the Terriers, the Beavers would have the first run of the game, connecting on 3 straight baskets to give UMF a 9-4 lead.
- Hannah Coolen would end the run with a three pointer, but UMF would respond with another run and would extend the lead to 16-9.Â
- Thomas would be the only team to score in the reminder of the first quarter, as Hana Isahac would connect on the front end of two free throws, followed by Brooke Jones hitting a mid range jumper with 2 seconds left to end the quarter with a score of 16-12.
- Emily Parent would open the second quarter with a three pointer, followed by a jumper from Samantha Fortin, the quick start put Thomas in the lead 17-16.
- The leading team would change six times at the start of the second quarter.
- With 3 minutes remaining in the half the Terriers would begin create some separation, Parent would hit a three, Deja Hamilton and Jay Jordan would follow with a pair of layups, Alderman would connect on a three and then a mid range jumper.
- Hamilton would cap off the scoring for the half with another layup, the strong first half finish gave the terriers a 7 point lead heading into the break.
- Sky Kubwalo would get the Terriers off to a good start in the third quarter scoring two layups.
- UMF would respond with 4 points, but Jones would then hit a big 3 pointer to stretch the lead to 11.
- Not going down quietly, UMFÂ knocked down both ends of a pair of free throws before making a pair of layups.
- Jay Jordan would put an end to the run but the Beavers would keep chipping away, 4 more free throws and a UMF three would close the gap to 2 points in favor of the visitors.
- UMF would take control on the scoreboard when they hit a three pointer with 19 seconds left in the third, making it 50-49.
- Both teams struggled at the start of the fourth before the Beavers were the first to brake the silence.Â
- The Terriers then had a combination of key layups and good free throws that gave them the edge to finish out the game with a conference win.Â

- The Terriers went 24-58 from the field (41%) 5-15 from 3 (33%) and 8-12 from the line (66%%)
- Alderman would lead all scorers with 12 points, while Parent and Coolen would add 9.Â
