Women's Basketball Earns Home Playoff Matchup After 69-50 Win Against SUNY Delhi on Senior Day

Waterville, ME - Women's Basetball earned a 69-50 win against the SUNY Delhi Broncos in the team's annual "Senior Day" on Saturday, February 14th, 2026. Seniors Kay McLellan, Emily Hagerty, and Elena Alderman were honored in a pregame ceremony. With the win, Women's Basketball has earned the #4 seed in the 2026 North Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Tournament. The team will host their first playoff game since the 2019-20 season next Thursday.

How it Happened:
  • The Terriers got off to a slow start despite a Hagerty three pointer, and the Broncos were able to take advantage early.
  • Several shots fell for the Broncos, and they took a 13-3 lead four minutes in.
  • However, an 7-2 run thanks to a Deja Hamilton three, a layup from Holly Loring, and free throws from McLellan made it 10-15.
  • The Broncos bounced right back, scoring five straight to make it 20-10 with three minutes to go in the first quarter.
  • Pryelle Kesse-Beda closed out the first quarter with free throws, while the Broncos answered with a layup to make it 16-25 headed into the second.
  • Two quick three pointers from Mykey Avni cut the Bronco lead to just three a minute into the second quarter.
  • Another three from Avni and a layup from Kesse-Beda saw the Terriers take their first lead of the game, 31-29.
  • Soon after the scoring grew into a 11-0 run thanks to more points from Kesse-Beda and a jumper from Alderman, making it 37-29.
  • Despite a Bronco layup in the last few seconds of the half, the Terriers took a 37-34 lead into the break.
  • Both teams traded pointed for most of the third quarter, but several key defensive plays from McLellan and blocks from Alderman set the tempo.
  • Another three pointer, this time with under a minute, from Avni made it 51-44 headed into the fourth quarter.
  • The Terriers came out in the final quarter on a mission, dominating on both ends of the floor.
  • The team started the quarter on a 10-0 run thanks to points from H. Loring, Brooklyn Calder, Maria Tomova, and Kesse-Beda to make it 61-46.
  • Alderman and Kesse-Beda both scored in the final minutes, and the Terriers earned an important 69-50 win against the Broncos.
