Box Score 2 Lewiston, ME – The Terriers traveled down to Bates College on Wednesday, April 26
th to play the Bobcats in two out of conference games. Falling 7-1 in game two then 2-1 during game two. The Terriers did not score in both games until later innings.
The Records:
Thomas College: Overall (11-12), NAC (4-2)
Bates College: Overall (13-11), NAC (5-7)
Game 1
How it Happened:
- After three quick innings on the offensive side from the Terriers the Bobcats added two runs in the bottom of the third off four hits and 1 Thomas error
- Two more runs were scored by Bates in the fourth after an infield RBI brought in an unearned run, followed by a single down the right field line
- The Terriers sole run came in the sixth inning with bases load with Maddie Rock, Kayla Duhaime, and Megan Oberholzer. Kaylee Fonseca hit a single up the middle bringing in Rock
- The final three runs from the Bobcats came in the bottom of the sixth off a three run home run, final score 7-1 Bates
The Pitchers:
Kelsey Currier pitched the full seven innings for the Terriers, ending with two strikeouts allowing eleven hits.
Game 2
How it Happened:
- The Terriers had a chance to score the first goal of game in the second inning after Riley Giblin Doubles to centerfield and then advance to third on a wild pitch, but the Terriers could not get her in
- Bates scored their only two goals in the fourth inning after a single RBI scored the first run and a wild pitch brought in the second, 2-0 Bates
- The Terriers went into the top of the seventh trying to shift momentum, Duhaime started the hits with a double to left field
- Katy McIntyre scored the Terriers run with a double to center bringing in Duhaime, final score 2-1 Thomas
The Pitchers:
Oberholzer started and pitched the full game for the Terriers, ending with four strikeouts and allowing six hits.
What is Next:
The Terriers will host NAC opponent Northern Vermont University Lyndon on Friday, April 28
th with game times at 3 & 5pm.
