Box Score 2 Waterville, ME – Baseball played day two of their conference doubleheaders on Sunday, April 16
th at home, while celebrating their 2023 Seniors. The Terriers split against the University of Maine Presque Isle Owls, falling in game one 7-6, but taking the win in game two 16-3.
The Records:
Thomas College: Overall (12-12), NAC (7-1)

Game 1
How it Happened:
- The Terriers were the first to get on the board scoring two runs in the bottom of the first inning after Elijah Morton worked his way around the bases after Tony Meza singled to right field
- Cam Haynes then hit Meza in with an RBI hit to shortstop
- The Owls then went on to gather their most runs of the weekend, scoring six in the second inning
- UMPI added another run in the third bring the score to 7-2 UMPI
- Thomas added their third run during the bottom of the third inning of a RBI hit to right field by Nick Hutson, scoring Morton
- The Terriers got their final three runs in the sixth inning and unable to collect one more in the seventh leaving them with the 7-6 loss in game one
The Pitchers:
The Terriers Zach Nickerson started on the mound and pitched two full innings. Nickerson was relieved by
Jacob Schubert who pitched the final five innings, recording four strikeouts and allowing three hits.
Game 2
How it Happened:
- The Terriers took no time in game two to get runs on the board getting four right in the first inning off four hits including two doubles from Morton and Hutson
- During the second inning while the Owls yet made their way onto the board Thomas added five more runs, two runs coming in off a single to left field from Matt Seymour, 9-0 Thomas
- During the top of the third the Owls added two of their three runs off four back-to-back singles
- The final Owl run was added in the fourth inning after a passed ball
- No more runs were scored until the sixth inning when the Terriers added their remaining seven runs off five singles and one UMPI error
The Pitchers:
Meza got the win on the mound for game two pitching three full innings and being relieved in the fourth. Meza recorded two strikeouts.
Arthur Aranda came in during the fourth for Meza and pitched until the seventh when
Andrew Pruell finished the game. Pruell struck out two of this three batters faced.

th at home, with game times at 1&4pm.
