Box Score 2 Winter Haven, FL – Softball played in their third day at The Spring Games first against Northwestern St. Paul losing 3-4 in International Tie Breaker, then against Marietta College falling short as well ending in a 3-4 loss.
The Records:
Thomas College: Overall (0-6)
Northwestern St. Paul: Overall (5-5)
Marietta College: Overall (2-3)
Game 1:
How it Happened:
- The Terriers were the first to get on the board with the bottom of the lineup, Katy McIntyre and Madi Herbert bringing in runners Kaylee Fonseca and Kayla Duhaime
- The Eagles were able to get one run back in the bottom of the second off a walked batter
- Thomas was the next to score with Herbert again bringing Duhaime on third
- During the bottom of the fourth the Eagles were able to tie up the ballgame with a line drive hit to center field bringing in two runs, 3-3
- Due to the teams being tied at the bottom of the seventh the International Tie Breaker went into effect
- Thomas was unable to get the runner on second in, unlike the Eagles causing a 4-3 loss for Thomas.

Kelsey Currier took the loss for the game. She ended with an impressive eight strikeouts and only three walks on 155 pitches.
Game 2:
How it Happened:
- Marietta had a big first inning getting two runs quick, but Sophomore pitcher Avery Herrick was able to get out of the inning with bases loaded
- Two more runs were added by Marietta in the second after a quick first inning for the Terriers, both runs were scored due to errors
- Thomas was able to cut Marietta's lead in half at the bottom of the second with both Megan Oberholzer and Maddy Swett scoring from an error and fielders choice hits from Cheyenne Simpson and Abby Farone
- Thomas got their third run in the third inning by Leah Knight scoring off an outfield single hit by Makayla Panich
- Thomas had opportunities later in the game, but were unable to bring any more runs in after the third, final score 4-3 Marietta
Pitchers:
Avery Herrick pitched the full game for the Terriers, taking the loss. Herrick ended the game with 108 pitches consisting of four strikeouts and three walks.
What is Next:
Softball will play their next Spring Games on Tuesday, March 9
th against Gordon and Geneva College with game times at 2pm and 4:30pm.
