Baseballs Falls to Clark University in Spring Training Day Two

Box Score Davenport, FL – Baseball played against Clark University in their second day of spring training in Florida and finished with an 8-1 loss against the Cougars.

How it Happened:
  • The first inning for the Cougars and Terriers went by quick
  • The second inning both teams were able to get a runner on, but nothing came from either of them
  • Clark got two of their runs in the third inning off of three singles, a double play ended the inning for the Terriers, stealing the momentum from the Cougars
  • Unable to find a string of hits and leaving runners on base, Thomas could not get a runner in
  • The sixth inning was bit for the Cougars, gaining six runs, on five walks an error, and two hits
  • The Terriers were able to find one run in the seventh with Austin Stebbins (walked) scoring off a single from Tony Meza
 
Pitchers:
Jarrad Willette started for the Terriers and received the loss. Willette totaled four strikeouts and allowing three walks and six hits on eighty-four pitches. Albert Acosta relieved Willette in the sixth before being replaced by Roy Clayton in the same inning. Clayton ended the inning with three strikeouts, three walks, and two hits. Daniel May started in the seventh inning recording seven pitches. Finally ending with Jacob Schubert who pitched the eighth inning finishing with one strikeout.
 
What is Next:
Baseball will play a doubleheader against Elms College on March 6th with game times at 10 am and 1 pm.
