Men's and women's track and field caps season with record-setting performance at New England DIII Championship

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Men's and women's track competed at the New England Division III Outdoor Championship at Williams College this weekend, with several athletes making school history. 
 
The men's program finished 20th and the women's program finished 33rd overall for the weekend. 
 

Highlights 

  • Stephen Gray (Turner, Maine) placed 6th in the decathlon becoming the first Terrier to place in New Englands in school history
  • Jake Warn (Winslow, Maine) set the record in the long jump, 6.75/22-1.75. He also set the school record in the triple jump, placing third, 14.31/46-11.5
  • Mary DiSanto (South Portland, Maine) became the first woman in program history to place in New Englands, grabbing eighth place in the discus with a throw of 35.98/118.05
  • Owen McQuarrie (Presque Isle, Maine), Jarrod Hooper (Lyman, Maine), Ryan Beckerman (Bethel, Maine), and Matthew Shea (Ellsworth, Maine)placed eighth in the 4x800 relay with a time of 8:16:22, they are the first relay team in program history to place at New Englands.
