WATERVILLE, Maine - Men's and women's track and field competed at the Maine State Meet hosted by Colby College with multiple athletes qualifying for DIII New England Indoor Championships and setting school records.
The Terrier men finished in fifth place in the meet right behind NAC rival Husson. Jarrod Hooper (Lyman, Maine) qualified for the DII New England Indoor Championship in the mile with a time of 4:25.47. He has now qualified in three different events. Stephen Gray (Turner, Maine) qualified in the triple jump as well as set the school record with 13.25/43-5.75.
The Terrier women finished in 8th place, with strong showings in the shot put and women's 4x200 relay. Mary DiSanto (South Portland, Maine) set the school record in the shot put with 10.55/34-7.5 In the women's 4x200 relay, Madyson Redding (Milford, Maine), Jessica Jensen (Naples, Maine), Maeghan Bernard (Winslow, Maine), and Onyx Emelo (Portland, Maine), set the school record with a time of 1:57:30.
Up next the Terriers will travel to the University of Maine next Saturday with start times to be determined.
