ORONO, Maine - Both men's and women's track and field had great performances at the University of Maine on Saturday.
Lionel Raye Jr. (West Warwick, R.I.) continues to have a strong season, finishing first in both the 60 yard dash and the long jump. Owen McQuarrie (Presque Isle, Maine) had one of his best performances of the year, finishing 3rd in the 500 meters while Jarrod Hooper (Lyman, Maine) had a strong showing in the 3000 meters event.
The women set two school records amid one of their strongest showings. Madyson Redding (Milford, Maine), Jessica Jensen (Naples, Maine), Ellie Michaud (Falmouth, Maine), and Onyx Emelo (Portland, Maine) set the record in the 4x200 relay while Molly Walker (South Berwick, Maine) set the school record in the shot put. Jensen also finished 6th in the 200 meters while Walker came in 6th in the weight throw.
