STOWE, VT. – The Thomas College men's tennis team swept Johnson St., 9-0, on Saturday afternoon at Top Notch.
The Badgers go to 1-2 on the season while the Terriers move to 2-4.
The Terriers opened the day with a 3-0 sweep of doubles pairings. Ryan Chasse (Fort Kent, Maine / Fort Kent) and Zachary Disch (Waterville, Maine / Waterville) teamed up to beat Gerrit Lane and Richie Perez 8-3, while Kaleb Payson (Lamoine, Maine / MDI) and Jared Waterhouse (Dayton, Maine / Thornton Academy) took down Alex Harcourt and Benjamin Holl in the No. 2 position. Ross Munn (Brunswick, Maine / Brunswick) and Mark Amato (Manchester, Conn. / Manchester) picked up an 8-0 decision over Brady Rainville and Evan Daigneault.
The Terriers also went on to win all six singles with Chasse, Munn, Disch, and Waterhouse finishing at 8-1 in their respective matches. Payson and Amato went on to win 8-0 on the fifth and sixth line.
The Terriers will host their first home match of the season on Sunday, March 26 against Rhode Island College at 12:00 p.m.
