Box Score WATERVILLE. ME - Thomas scored a season-high 20 goals as they take out Wheelock College 20-5 in a non-conference game on Thursday evening. Eight different Terrier players scored as they put up 66 shots on the night.
Thomas (3-7) scored seven unanswered goals to begin the game, and held a 7-1 lead after one quarter. Junior Bryan Ferris got it started on 39 seconds in, taking a pass from Colby Blondin for the game's first points.
After a Jacob Bilodeau goal, Parker Chute scored two consecutive goals in a one-minute span to give the Terriers a 4-0 lead. Michael Small then would bury his first career goal with help from Blondin, followed by two goals from Ferris to get the lead up to 7-0. Donovan Riley Robinson ended the quarter with a goal for Wheelock (0-6) to end the scoring run.
Ferris got the second quarter started with his fourth of the game, and his second with a man advantage. Riley Robinson answered in just 16 seconds for the Wildcats, but Thomas then scored three straight to grab an 11-2 lead, as Zac Crimmin, Blondin and Small each netted one.
Wheelock ended the quarter again on a high note, scoring the half's final two goals as Thomas went into halftime with an 11-4 lead.
The Terriers further distanced themselves from the Wildcats in the third quarter, outscoring them 4-0. Chute put in his third of the game on an assist from Ferris just 53 seconds in. Kade Strout recorded his first of the game, while Bilodeau and Blondin each scored their second to stretch the Thomas lead to 11 at the end of three quarters.
Thomas added five more goals in the final quarter to one for Wheelock. Crimmin added two more goals, while Ferris and Strout each added one more. Dakota Gendreau would find the back of the net for his first career goal. Josh Simmons scored the Wildcat goal.
Ferris had a game-high five goals along with two assists, and Blondin had a two goals with a game-high eight assists. Liam Salus and Connor Lamberton each logged 30 minutes in goal, and each recorded five saves. Robinson Riley led Wheelock with three goals and one assist and goalkeeper Collin Davis had 17 saves.
The Terriers outshot the Wildcats 66-20, held a 57-36 advantage in ground balls and forced 50 turnovers on the game.
Thomas will return to action on Saturday, April 11 when they travel to Vermont to take on Green Mountain College. Gametime is scheduled for 8:00 PM.
