WATERVILLE, ME - The Thomas men's tennis team defeated Lyndon State 8-1 for their fifth consecutive victory on Wednesday evening.
In doubles match play, the Terriers (7-4, 2-0 NAC) lost four total games as they went on to take all three doubles matches.
The No. 1 doubles team of Eric Morin and Tyler Small defeated John Corey and Trevor Updike 8-0. The No. 2 doubles team Zachary Disch and Federico Trujillo defeated Michael Sigsbury and Tyler Hall 8-2, while Jonte Roussel and Caleb Cough took down Kyle Berteau and Dominik Agresta 8-2 in No. 3 doubles play to complete the doubles sweep for Thomas.
The Terriers went into singles play with a 3-0 lead, and were able to secure wins in five of the six singles matches.
In No.1 singles, Morin defeated Corey 6-0, 2-1 by retirement, and Small took down Sigsbury 6-2, 6-0 in No. 2 singles. The No. 3 singles match was won by Disch 6-2, 6-2 over Updike. Cough dropped his No. 4 singles match against Hall 6-2, 6-2. Caleb Mora took the No. 5 singles match 6-2, 6-3 over Agresta and Joseph Greco won the No. 6 singles match, defeating Michael Desmond 6-0, 6-1.
Thomas will return to the courts on Saturday, April 11 when they take on Castleton. Match start is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
