FARMINGTON, ME - The Thomas women's basketball team second half rally came up short, as the Terriers fell 74-65 to the University of Maine at Farmington on Saturday afternoon. Junior Ashleigh Gagne scored a career-high 24 points on 10-16 shooting and 3-5 from the three-point line.

The first ten minutes of the first half was nip and tuck as both teams battled to a 19-19 score. The Beavers (5-9, 5-3 NAC) then went on an 11-0 run to pull ahead. Jordan Agger-Barnes would hit a layup at the buzzer to put the Terriers (1-13, 0-8 NAC) down into the half by 16, 42-26.

Thomas would battled back early in the second half and close the deficit to five with 11:42 remaining. UMF would respond by going on an 18-6 run over the next seven minutes to build their lead back up to 17 points at 67-50. The Beavers would hit free throws down the stretch to keep the Terriers from closing in.

Gagne led Thomas with her career and game-high 24 points and six rebounds. Katie McAllister added 13 points, eight rebounds and three assists.

UMF was led by Kennadi Glover with 19 points, while Lindsay Ranquist and Meghan Smith added 16 and 15 each. 

Thomas will be back on the court on Wednesday, January 21 when they host non-conference opponent Saint Joseph's College at 5:30 PM.
