Box Score BOSTON, MA- The Terriers (2-6) fell to University of Massachusetts-Boston (3-9) 13-5, in a non-conference men's lacrosse contest Wednesday afternoon. Senior net minder Jesse Morkeski () made 15 saves in the losing effort for Thomas.
UMass-Boston got off to a hot start, scoring four goal in the first quarter and holding the Terriers to just three shots. Thomas would respond to the Beacons first goal in the start of the second, scoring one of their own at the 11:51 mark on an unassisted tally by Bryan Ferris (). UMass-Boston however would answer with four straight goals to end the half, increasing their lead to nine.
The Terriers would come out strong to start the second stanza, with a goal by Sean Machin (Brunswick, Maine), and another from Ferris assisted by Parker Chute (). The Beacons would put up two more to end the third quarter in the later stages.
Both teams would go back and forth with goals in the fourth, with Machin picking up his second of the contest and Gunnar Shelton finding the back of the twine on the man up for the away side.
UMass-Boston held the advantage with 46 shots to the Terriers 28, and 33-28 on groundballs. Thomas was 15-28 in clears, and 10-22 on face offs.
Thomas will return home to take on conference foe Johnson State on Saturday at 2pm on the Black Field.
