Thomas Baseball downed by Husson on Senior Day

Waterville, Maine – In the last home games of the season, Thomas (10-22, 7-7 NEAC) loss both games to Husson (21-14, 9-3 NEAC). The first game, the Eagles squeaked by 3-1 while the second game saw Husson run away in the end, 11-4. 

GAME ONE

Husson scored the first run in the top of the first and added another one in the third. Thomas was able to answer with a run of their own in the bottom of the fourth when Taylor Livingston stole home during a run down play between first and second base. Livingston was able to reach home before Marcos Belliard was tagged out in a rundown.

The Eagles would score an insurance run in the seventh inning giving pitcher Ryan Arsenault the complete game win. Chris Farrar was tagged with the loss pitching the entire game allowing five hits and three runs.

 GAME TWO

The Eagles scored the first runs of the game in the fourth inning as three batters crossed the plate. In the bottom half of the inning, Thomas answered with four runs to take a 4-3 lead. Jeff Richardson and Belliard both had two RBI's in their at bats to drive in the runs.

Thomas starting pitcher Danny Burke went into the sixth inning with a one run lead but the Eagles' offense was able to score six runs in the inning to take the lead. Husson added two more runs in the seventh and Thomas was unable to answer back.

Burke pitched 5.1 innings allowing seven runs and eight hits while striking out four batters in the loss. Kyle Leeman pitched six innings in the win allowing four runs and six hits while striking out five batters.

Thomas will be back in action Saturday when they travel to New England College (7-16) for a double header. The first game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
