Emma Burr earned First Team All-American honors at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday, May 23
rd, 2025. Burr became the first NCAA Track & Field First-Team All-American in school history, placing sixth in all of NCAA Division III in the Women's Heptathlon.
Women's Outdoor Track & Field
- Burr's primary event in Outdoor Track & Field, the Heptathlon, is comprised of seven different events – the 100 Meter Hurdles, High Jump, Shot Put, 200 Meter, Long Jump, Javelin Throw, and 800 Meter. Points are awarded separately for each event completed, and after those seven events the student athlete with the highest point total wins.
- Burr started off strong, placing fourth in the 100 Meter Hurdles with a time of 14.67, earning 886 points.
- Burr placed 13th in the High Jump with a height of 1.66 meters, earning 666 points.
- Burr placed eighth in the Shot Put with a distance of 10.72 meters, earning 577 points.
- Burr placed first in the 200 Meter with a time of 24.99, earning 888 points. This time also earned Burr a new school record.
- Burr placed 14th in the Long Jump with a distance of 5.23 meters, earning 623 points.
- Burr placed seventh in the Javelin Throw, with a distance of 32.94 meters, earning 532 points.
- And finally, Burr placed 10th in the 800 Meter with a time of 2:28.49, earning 654 points.
- As a result, Burr earned a total of 4,884 points, placing her sixth in all of NCAA Division III, making her a First Team All-American.
- Burr's 4,884 points in the Women's Heptathlon also earned her another school record.
