Outdoor Track & Field Breaks Eight School Records at Maine State Meet

Lewiston, ME - Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field traveled to compete in the 2026 Maine State Meet, hosted by Bates College, on Friday and Saturday, April 17th and 18th, 2026. The Men's team placed in sixth out of nine schools with 65 points, and the Women's team placed in fourth out of 10 schools with 85 points.

How it Happened:

Women's Outdoor Track & Field:
  • Emma Burr placed second in the Women's 100 Meters with a time of 12.16 seconds. This time earned Burr a new school record and qualification to the NCAA Division III New England Championships.
  • Burr placed first in the Women's 100 Meter Hurdles with a time of 14.63. This time earned Burr a new school record.
  • Burr also placed first in the Women's Long Jump with a distance of 19' 2.75". This jump earned Burr a new school record.
  • Nabah Yahya placed first in the Women's 800 Meters with a time of 2:20.07. This time earned Yahya a new school record and qualification to the NCAA Division III New England Championships.
  • Cassidy Hardy placed third in the Women's Discus with a distance of 113' 10".
  • Eliza Wheeler placed fourth in the Women's Hammer with a distance of 134' 4". This throw earned Wheeler a new school record and qualification to the NCAA Division III New England Championships.
  • The Women's team placed in fourth with 85 points.
  • A few notable national rankings (in NCAA Division III) Burr is ranked 7th in the Heptathlon, 4th in the Long Jump, and 28th in the 100 Meter Hurdles.

Men's Outdoor Track & Field:
  • Patrick McKenney, Alwin Andree, Tristan Hughes, and Gage Bruns placed first in the Men's 4x800 Relay with a time of 8:34.18.
  • Treaz Hardy placed first in the Men's High Jump with a height of 6' 5.5". This jump earned Hardy a new school record.
  • Nick Plamondon placed first in the Men's Long Jump with a distance of 23' 9.5". This jump earned Plamnondon a new school record.
  • Thomas Grady placed fifth in the Men's Shot Put with a distance of 43' 4.5". This throw earned Grady a new school record.
  • Caleb Russo placed second in the Men's Javelin with a distance of 166' 4".
  • The Men's team placed in sixth with 65 points.
  • Plamondon is now ranked 12th in all of NCAA Division III in the Men's Long Jump.

What's Next:
  • Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field will be back in action on Saturday and Sunday, April 25th and 26th, when they travel to the University of Maine Orono to compete in the 2026 NAC Championships. Start times are TBD.
