Burr Earns Fourth NCAA All-American Honor at 2026 Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships

Lacrosse, WI - Emma Burr continued her dominance at the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, becoming an NCAA Division III First Team All-American in the Women's Heptathlon for the second time in her career after competing on Thursday and Friday, May 22nd, 2026. Burr, a Junior, has now earned NCAA Division III All-American Honors four times. In the 2024-25 Indoor Track & Field season she earned NCAA Division III Second Team All-American Honors in the Women's Pentathlon, and improved to earn NCAA Division III First Team All-American Honors this past winter season. At last spring's Outdoor Track & Field National Championships she earned First Team All-American honors in the Heptathlon as well.


How it Happened:
  • This time around Burr qualified for an incredible three separate events at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships: the Long Jump, the 100 Meter Hurdles, and her primary event, the Heptathlon.
  • Beginning with the Long Jump, Burr placed 17th out of all NCAA Division III student-athletes with a jump of 18 feet.
  • In the 100 Meter Hurdles, Burr placed 20th out of all NCAA Division III student-athletes with a time of 15.83 seconds.
  • Burr's primary event in Outdoor Track & Field, the Heptathlon, is comprised of seven different events – the 100 Meter Hurdles, High Jump, Shot Put, 200 Meter Dash, Long Jump, Javelin Throw, and 800 Meter. Points are awarded separately for each event completed, and after those seven events the student-athlete with the highest point total wins.
  • Starting off with the 100 Meter Hurdles, Burr placed in third after running a time of 14.58 seconds, earning 898 points toward her overall score.
  • Next came the High Jump, where she placed 10th after a height of 5.12 feet, earning 689 more points toward her overall score.
  • Next in the Shot Put Burr placed fourth after placing fourth with a throw of 38 feet. This earned 635 points toward her overall score.
  • Next in the 200 Meter Dash Burr placed first after a time of 25.24 seconds, earning 865 points toward her overall score.
  • Next came the Long Jump, where Burr placed sixth after a jump of 18.3 feet. This earned Burr 723 more points toward her overall score.
  • Next in the Javelin Burr placed ninth after a throw of 105.7 feet, earning 519 points toward her overall score.
  • In the final event, the 800 Meter, Burr placed 14th after running a time of 2:28.19. This earned Burr 716 more points.
  • In total, Burr earned an incredible 5,045 points, placing her at third in the event in all of NCAA Division III.
  • This means Burr earned her highest finish in history, becoming a NCAA Division III First Team All-American for the second consecutive season.
