Outdoor Track & Field Travels to Compete at Tufts and Saint Joseph's in Busy Weekend

Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field participated in two separate meets this past week, with some student-athletes traveling to Tufts University to compete in the Tufts Invitational, while the rest of the team traveled to compete in the Monks Invitational held at Saint Joseph's College of Maine. In total the Terriers had an incredibly successful week, with 10 qualifiers for the NCAA Division III New England Championships, as well as six school records being broken.


How it Happened:

Women's Outdoor Track & Field
  • Emma Burr placed second in the Women's Heptathlon, finishing with 4,842 points. This score earned Burr qualification to the NCAA Division III New England Championships, as well as a new school record.
  • Burr placed first in the Women's Heptathlon 200 Meters, finishing with a time of 24.89. This time earned Burr qualification to the NCAA Division III New England Championships as well as another school record.
  • Burr placed second in the Women's Heptathlon Long Jump, finishing with a jump of 17' 3.5". This jump earned Burr qualification to the NCAA Division III New England Championships.
  • Burr also placed first in the Women's Heptathlon High Jump, finishing with a jump of 5' 2.25". This time earned Burr qualification to the NCAA Division III New England Championships as well as another school record.
  • Celia Stinson placed first in the Women's 800 Meters with a time of 2:37.14.
  • Stinson also placed third in the Women's 1,500 Meters with a time of 5:22.44.
  • Nabah Yahya placed first in the Women's 1,500 Meters with a time of 5:13.89.
  • Yahya placed second in the Women's Long Jump with a distance of 16' 6.5". This jump earned Yahya qualification to the NCAA Division III New England Championships.
  • Yahya also placed second in the Women's Triple Jump with a distance of 35' 9.25". This jump earned Yahya qualification to the NCAA Division III New England Championships.
  • Kayla Hatt placed third in the Women's 5,000 Meters with a time of 21:21.77.
  • Kara Anderson placed first in the Women's Long Jump with a distance of 16' 8". This jump earned Anderson qualification to the NCAA Division III New England Championships.
  • Anderson also placed first in the Women's Triple Jump with a distance of 31' 11.25". This jump earned Anderson qualification to the NCAA Division III New England Championships.
  • Cassidy Hardy placed first in the Women's Discus with a distance of 118' 4". This throw earned Hardy qualification to the NCAA Division III New England Championships.
  • Chelsey Cote placed third in the Women's Discus with a distance of 100' 9".
  • Eliza Wheeler placed third in the Women's Hammer with a distance of 127' 7". This throw earned Wheeler a new school record.

Men's Outdoor Track & Field
  • Nick Plamondon placed first in the Men's 200 Meters with a time of 22.18. This time earned Plamondon qualification to the NCAA Division III New England Championships, as well as a new school record.
  • Plamondon also placed second in the Men's Long Jump with a distance of 22' 1.75".
  • Alwin Andree placed first in the Men's 400 Meters with a time of 52.23.
  • Gage Bruns placed second in the Men's 800 Meters with a time of 1:59.09.
  • Tristan Hughes placed first in the Men's 1,500 Meters with a time of 4:29.32.
  • Jeffrey Flees placed second in the Men's 1,500 Meters with a time of 4:29.70.
  • Flees also placed second in the Men's 5,000 Meters with a time of 16:31.08.
  • Patrick McKenney placed third in the Men's 400 Hurdles with a time of 1:03.51.
  • Khristan Castille, Brenden Francis, Traez Hardy, and Plamondon placed third in the Men's 4x100 Relay with a time of 45.21.
  • Andree, Bruns, McKenney, and Hughes placed first in the Men's 4x400 Relay with a time of 3:40.61.
  • Thomas Grady placed third in the Men's Shot Put with a distance of 43' 3.25". This throw earned Grady a new school record.
  • Caleb Russo placed second in the Men's Javelin with a distance of 175' 10". This throw earned Russo a new school record.


What's Next:
  • Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field will be back in action on Saturday, April 18th, for the Maine State Meet at Bates College. Start time is TBD.
