Waterville, ME – The Thomas College Men's and Women's Track and Field team competed on Friday, April 18
th and Saturday, April 19
th at the Maine State Championships hosted by Colby College.
Bates College, Colby College, University of Southern Maine, Bowdoin College, University of Saint Joseph's (ME), University of New England, Husson University, University of Maine Farmington, and University of Maine Presque Isle all completed alongside the Terriers.
Sophomore
Emma Burr was named the Women's Track Events MVP of the meet. Also, after her first-place finish in the Heptathlon this weekend, she is now ranked 11
th in the country.
Women's Track and Field:
Emma Burr: MVP of Women's Track Events; first-place finish in the Heptathlon with 4,650 points, ranking 11th nationally. She broke school records in the Heptathlon and High Jump (1.54m / 5' 0.75") and qualified for the Heptathlon and 200m (25.21 seconds).
Savaughn Kungxat-Facenda: Broke her own school record in the 1500m with a time of 5:05.22, improving from her 2024 record.
Chelsey Cote: Fourth place in Women's Discus Throw with a mark of 35.27m (115' 9"), qualifying for Division III New England's.
Men's Track and Field:
Van Franklin: Third place in Men's Discus (41.87m / 137' 4"), breaking a school record and qualifying for New England's.
Nick Plamondon: Second place in the 100m dash with a time of 10.85 seconds, earning a spot at New England's.
Max Bojarski: Second place in Men's Hammer Throw (48.97m / 160' 8"), breaking his earlier record.
