Cambridge & Boston, MA – On Friday, January 31st, and Saturday, February 1st, both the Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field teams competed in events at Harvard University and Boston University. Over the weekend, two student-athletes—Treaz Hardy and
Emma Burr—qualified for D3 New Englands, while five school records were broken, and one was tied.
Men's Indoor Track and Field:
Day 1 – Harvard University
One of the newest additions to the Men's team this spring semester, Treaz Hardy, had an impressive debut. In his first meet with the Terriers, he placed third in the Men's High Jump with a height of 1.97 meters (6 feet, 5.5 inches). He finished just behind Edward Kiboma from Tufts (second place) and Ian Solberg from Northeastern (first place). Hardy also qualified for the Men's High Jump at D3 New Englands and broke the school record, which had previously been set in 2020.
Day 2 – Boston University
Senior
Max Bojarski broke the school record in the weight throw with a distance of 15.25 meters (50 feet, 0.5 inches), a record he had set earlier this year.
Fellow teammate
Nick Plamondon was the final men's team member to break a school record during the dual meet weekend. In the 200-meter, Plamondon finished with a time of 22.98 seconds, breaking a record that had stood since 2020.
Women's Indoor Track and Field:
Day 1 – Boston University
Sophomore
Emma Burr had a standout weekend, qualifying for New Englands and breaking a school record she had set earlier in the 400-meter, while also tying her own broken record in the 200 meters. In the 400, Burr finished 10th with a time of 58.63 seconds. In the 200 meters, she finished 23rd with a time of 25.53 seconds.
Senior
Savaughn Kungxat-Facenda also broke her own school record in the 1500-meter with a time of 5:13.36.
Day 2 – Harvard University
In the 60-meter Hurdles, Burr placed 8th with a time of 9.31 seconds. While this is a qualifying time for New Englands, she had already qualified for this event earlier this year.
