Track and Field Compete in Final Meet Before Division III New England Championships

Lewiston, ME – The Thomas College men's and women's track and field teams competed at Bates College on Saturday, February 22, in their final indoor meet of the season before the Division III New England Championships. Sophomore Emma Burr qualified for one last event, and four student-athletes broke school records.
 
Women's Indoor Track and Field
  • Emma Burr: Qualified for the long jump, breaking her own school record set last year with a mark of 5.21 meters (17' 1"), and placed 1st in the event. Burr also claimed 1st in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.21.
  • Kara Anderson: Broke the triple jump school record for the second consecutive weekend, marking 9.90 meters (32' 5.75") and finishing 6th in the event.
  • Savaughn Kungxat-Facenda: Placed 2nd in the 1000 meters with a time of 3:13.27, breaking her own school record from 2024 by nearly 12 seconds.
  • Julia Reny: Finished 2nd in the 400 meters with a time of 1:04.75.
  • Mary DiSanto: Took 1st place in the shot put with a mark of 11.28 meters (37' 0.25").
  • Chelsey Cote: Placed 3rd in the shot put with a mark of 10.51 meters (34' 5.75"), finishing just behind DiSanto.
 
Men's Indoor Track and Field
  • Thomas Grady: Broke his own record in the shot put, marking 14.48 meters (47' 6") and earning 3rd place in the event.
  • Gage Bruns: Placed 3rd in the 600 meters with a time of 1:27.51.
  • Patrick McKenney: Finished 4th in the 600 meters, just behind Bruns, with a time of 1:28.35.
  • 4x400 Relay Team (Bruns, McKenney, Carlton Dailey, Zachary White): Finished 2nd in the relay with a time of 3:41.19.
  • Henry Phillips: Tied for 2nd in the high jump with a mark of 1.85 meters (6' 0.75").
 
What's Next
The Terriers who have qualified for the Division III New England Championships will travel to Boston, Massachusetts, to compete at the New Balance Track and Field Center from February 28 to March 1.
