Waterville, Me – Thomas College competed in a mini meet on Wednesday, January 29
th hosted and joined by Colby College. This meet allowed Terriers final preparation before a big meet weekend at both Harvard and Boston University. Both Colby College and the University of Maine Farmington joined in participation.
Men's Indoor Track and Field:
Junior
Thomas Grady took 1
st in the Men's Weight Throw with a distance of 13.12 meters.
Zachary While a sophomore from Skowhegan, Maine finished with a time of 25.03 seconds in the 200-meter dash, gaining him 1
st place.
Lastly, first year
Michael Johnson placed 3
rd in the 1000-meter run with a time of 2:52.10 a mere .32 seconds behind Alexander Gagnon from Farmington who finished 2
nd.
Women's Indoor Track and Field:
Sophomore Katie Elliot placed 2
nd in the Women's Weight Throw with a distance of 11.66 meters.
Amanda Winslow ended with a time of 3:46.10 in the 1000-meter run. This time earned the Mapleton native 2
nd place.
Wrapping up the day,
Julia Reny placed 3
rd in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.32 seconds.
What's Next:
Both the Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field team will participate in meets at both Harvard University and Boston University. On Friday, January 31
st the men's team will participate at Harvard while the women are at Boston. Saturday, February 1
st the teams swap places and the women's team will be at Harvard while the men are in Boston.
