Waterville, ME - Thomas College Athletics is excited to announce that Jenn Morris (15', 16') has been named the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach and an Associate Director of Athletics. Morris returns to her alma mater after recently being inducted to the Dick & Betty-Jane Meader Thomas College Athletics Hall of Fame.

Interim Vice President of Athletics Andrea Thebarge commented, "We are thrilled to welcome Jenn back to Thomas College in her new role. Her passion, expertise, leadership, and deep connection to our campus community will be great assets as we build toward the future and enhance the student-athlete experience across our department."

A central Maine native and Thomas College alum, Morris returns to campus with a heartfelt mission. "I'm especially excited to work with our student-athletes to build a team that is rooted in hard work and embodies a strong sense of unity. There's a lot of potential within this program and I look forward to helping the team grow not only as athletes, but also as leaders and individuals," she said. "Being back at Thomas, in a leadership role, means I get to give back to a college that has already given so much to me. I'm ready to hit the ground running and help take Women's Lacrosse to the next level."

The dual role as Associate Athletic Director allows Morris to contribute impactfully across Thomas' athletics landscape. "What excites me most about being an Associate Director of Athletics is the opportunity to make a broader impact within the entire athletic department. I'm passionate about creating a positive, supportive environment where student-athletes can thrive both on and off the field, and this role allows me to help shape that experience on a larger scale," Morris explained.

Morris's coaching philosophy places a strong emphasis on the balance student-athletes must strike between academics and athletics. "My approach centers around the understanding that student-athletes are constantly learning and navigating the balance between academic and athletic responsibilities. I emphasize the importance of being a student first, while still fostering a strong commitment to the team. Building meaningful relationships based on trust, communication, and mutual respect is at the core of my coaching style. I strive to create a supportive team environment where student-athletes feel valued not just for their performance, but for who they are as individuals. Establishing that sense of community allows us to grow together—both on and off the field."

In the short term, Morris will concentrate on recruiting, skill development, and enhancing the visibility of the Women's Lacrosse program on campus and regionally. Her longer-term aims are as follows. "Long term, our goal is to elevate the program to a highly competitive level—both within our conference and against strong regional opponents—while maintaining a culture of excellence, accountability, and growth that can be felt when interacting with any member of the team," she stated.

Morris was a four-year member of the Women's Lacrosse and Women's Soccer teams as a student. She graduated with her bachelor's degree in accounting, and later her master's degree, both from Thomas. Morris also holds the Women's Lacrosse record for most career goals at 175 and was the school's Head Women's Lacrosse Coach from 2021-2023.

Morris's official start date is today, October 16th, and will look to prepare for the upcoming spring season.
