Hallowell, ME – Men's Ice Hockey hosted the first game at the newly branded Thomas College Ice Vault on Saturday, October 5^th, 2024. The final score was 0-6 as the Terriers matched up against a strong University of New Hampshire club squad.

University of New Hampshire: Overall (1-0)

 
How it Happened:  

• The Terriers started the game well, outshooting the Wildcats 12-5 in the first period.
• Despite the strong opening period the Terriers were unable to find the back of the net.
• The Wildcats opened the scoring two minutes into the second period and added another less than a minute later to take a 2-0 lead.
• The Wildcats would score again in the final three minutes of the period to take a 3-0 lead into the final 20 minutes.
• Despite the Terriers best efforts, the Wildcats scored again, taking a 4-0 lead.
• The Wildcats would close out the game with two empty-net goals to hand the Terriers a 6-0 loss.
• Despite the loss, the Terriers outshot the Wildcats in every period. (12-5, 11-8, 8-7)
• Terrier goalkeeper Matt D'Ortona finished with 15 saves.

• Men's Ice Hockey will hope to bounce back as they take on Central Maine Community College at the Thomas College Ice Vault on Thursday, October 17^th, 2024. Puck drop is set for 8:30 PM.
