Lewiston Maine – Thomas College Indoor Track and Field participated in a Maine Sate Meet on Saturday, February 4
th at Bates College. Both the Men's and Women's teams for the Terriers put on quite the performance on Saturday.
Women's Indoor Track and Field:
Maria Protheroe set a school record in the mile with a time of 6:09.09. The previous record for the event was set back in 2015.
Rebekah Ireland set a school in record in the 1000m with a time of 3:45.35 the previous record was set back in 2022.
Men's Indoor Track and Field:
Nick Plamondon ran the 60m in a time of 7.13 and qualifying for the DIII New England Qualifiers. Thomas's Men's team finished 5
th place, the highest finish ever for Thomas. The Terriers had their first ever individual winner, earning themselves State Titles.
Lionel Raye Jr. finished first in the long jump at 6.90m and
Jarrod Hooper finished first in the 800m with a time of 1:58.06 for the Terriers.
What's Next:
Both the Men's and Women's indoor track and field team will travel to Boston, Massachusetts on February 12
th to participate in the Beantown Championship at the New Balance Track and Field Center.
