POULTNEY, VT – The Thomas College men's soccer team dominated Green Mountain College, 10-0, in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) victory on Saturday afternoon.
In the rout, the Terriers stay undefeated in NAC play (7-3-1, 5-0 NAC) while the Eagles stay winless on the season at 0-10 (0-4 NAC). Senior London Steede-Jackson (Hamilton Parish, Bermuda / Cedarbridge Academy) notched four goals while sophomores Adam LaBrie (Yarmouth, Maine / Yarmouth) and Josh Emard (Lebanon, Maine / Noble) each scored a pair.
Thomas scored three times in the first 10 minutes of play to gain an early lead as Tevin Reid (Dorchester, Mass. / Bunker Hill), Steede-Jackson and LaBrie each tallied their own marker. LaBrie added his second of the game to make the score 4-0 before Steede-Jackson ripped off three consecutive goals to make it 7-0 and send the visitors into half with a comfortable lead.
The Terriers removed its starters for the second half, but still tacked three goals on the board with Emard's two goals and Jeffrey Nagy's (Old Saybrook, CT / Old Saybrook) single tally.
Sophomore keeper Jonathan Dutka (Durham, N.H. / Oyster River) was victorious in goal for the Terriers, making one save while Sawyer Levy was given the loss for the Eagles after making eight saves. Thomas outshot Green Mountain 37-4 and held a 10-0 advantage in corners.
The Terriers will continue their NAC schedule as they travel to Castleton on Sunday, October 9, in a 2:30 p.m. contest.
