Box Score WATERVILLE, ME - Jacob Bilodeau scored four goals and Colby Blondin dished out five assists as the Thomas men's lacrosse team went on to an 11-4 victory over the University of Maine at Farmington on Tuesday night in a North Atlantic Conference contest.
The two teams went scoreless for the first five minutes of the game, until Cameron McAllister notched his seventh goal on the season at 9:09 to give the Beavers (0-10, 0-5 NAC) the 1-0 lead. The Terriers (2-7, 2-4 NAC) would take less than a minute to respond, as Parker Chute took an assist from Bilodeau and buried it past goalkeeper Joseph Maldonado to tie the game up at 1-1.
Nathan Chase of UMF and Kade Strout of Thomas each traded goals to end the first quarter in a tie at 2-2. For Strout, it was his third goal of the season.
Thomas began to seize control in the second quarter, outscoring the Beavers 4-2 to gain the lead into the half. Bryan Ferris began the scoring in the quarter when he received a Blondin pass and zipped it past Maldonado to give the Terriers their first lead of the night. Chase would answer for UMF to knot things up at 3-3.
Zac Crimmin then scored two straight goals on assists from Blondin in span of 1:16 to put Thomas back up in front by two. Chase netted his third of the game for the Beavers to cut it back down to one, but Bilodeau ended the half with his first of four goals to bring the Terriers into halftime up 6-4.
The second half was all Thomas, as they shut out the Beavers 5-0, limiting them to just five shots and forcing 27 turnovers. Bilodeau and Ferris would find the back of the net once again in third quarter, with assists from Blondin and Jacob Kendall.
Bilodeau would score twice more in the final quarter, while Ferris added his third of the game to put the finishing touches on the 11-4 Terrier victory.
Bilodeau's four goals were the first of his career, while Blondin set a season-high mark in assists (5) and ground balls (12). Ferris added three goals and Crimmin had two for the Terriers.
Chase had three of the four goals to lead the Beavers. Maldonado finished with a game-high 13 saves.
Connor Lamberton got the win in goal, totaling six saves in 45 minutes, with Liam Salus going the remaining 15 minutes and notching two saves. Thomas caused a season-high 27 Beaver turnovers.
The Terriers will have a quick turnaround back to the field, as they get set to host Wheelock College on Thursday, April 9 at 4:00 PM.
